The usual reason for this conversion is that a deck came back as a PDF and now needs to be presented, annotated, or merged into a larger presentation. PowerPoint will not open a PDF as slides, so the pages have to be turned into slide content first. That is the job here, and it is worth being precise about what "convert" means in this context.

Each page is rendered to an image with PDF.js and placed as a full-bleed picture on its own slide. The output is a genuine .pptx — an Office Open XML package assembled and zipped in the browser with fflate — that opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, and LibreOffice Impress. You can reorder slides, add notes, insert new slides, annotate over the top, and present it normally.

What you cannot do is edit the text on those slides, because there is no text on them. Each slide holds a picture of a page. Text boxes, shapes, charts, and animations are not recovered, and cannot be — a PDF does not record that this rectangle was a chart with data behind it. Any tool claiming otherwise is either doing OCR and placing approximate text boxes, or overstating what it does. If you need editable slides, you need the original deck.

Slide size is the setting worth getting right. Widescreen 16:9 is the modern default and matches most projectors and displays. Standard 4:3 suits older equipment and some print workflows. Match page shape derives the slide dimensions from your PDF, which is the right choice for A4 portrait documents that would otherwise sit letterboxed with large empty margins on a widescreen slide. Render quality trades sharpness against file size — a fifty-page deck at high quality gets large quickly.
